2TB SSD Launched by Samsung for PCs
Solid State Drives offer much swifter transfer of data than usual flash drives. The Samsung now comes to the market with their latest version of SSD hard drives especially meant for desktop PCs at home. In most of the usual cases, the SSD hard drives offer swiftness but doesn’t offer much storage facility. The company promises that they give almost a decent storage capacity of 2TB along with preserving the same speed as SSD usually deliver. With this the company promises much speedier processing of data over our desktop even in daily activities.
A few years it was impossible to afford a 1TB SSD hard drive by an ordinary user. But with the introduction of Solid State Drives from Samsung, the situation changed. In the words of Un-Soo Kim, Senior Vice President of Branded Product Marketing , Memory Business at Samsung Electronics, that they have understood the demand of SSD with higher capacity. They realized this especially when they introduced their model named V-NAND into the market.
According to him this was the point in which they decided to have SSDs with larger storage capacity. He also promised that they will continue to produce SSDs with higher performance and larger storage capacity in the near future. He expected that their new initiative will be welcomed by domestic users who demand for greater storage along with faster performance.
Samsung for the time being two models namely 2TB 850 Evo and 2TB 850 Pro. They are meant to use the normal SATA connections. But Samsung promises that these models are designed to use mSATA and M.2 formats in the laptop. Since the SSDs have started gaining the market share. The faster penetration is impossible at this point of time due to its pricing strategy. These hard drives are costing more than 10 times than the ordinary one with flash memory storage.
I have already mentioned that the pricing bit problematic. Samsung has tagged the price of 2TB 850 Evo at $800. Whereas the other variant with the name 2TB 850Pro is tagged with a price of $1000. These SSDs are definitely worth the price that you pay for. These SSDs are characterized with the advantage of faster data transfer which is almost many more times swifter than usual flash drives. They are also coupled with certain other potential features, which make it compatible and perfect to be utilized professionally.
