Microsoft launched the device named Surface Pro 4 with a digitizer pen with 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity. Now Toshiba launched it version of device named dynaPad, comes with a better digitizer pen when compared to its counterpart competitor.This feature makes it favourable to artists who rely on digital devices for creating artistic excellence. The new device from Toshiba is a Windows hybrid, which can be used both a tab and laptop. Let us have look on its specifics.
Designing and Display
The new device is feather-weighted with just 1.25 pounds.But when keypad is connected it weighs 2.2 pounds.This is also the thinnest devices in this category with just 0.27 inches thickness. The screen size measures to be 12 inches with a screen resolution of 1920*1080 pixels IPS display. The screen is covered with twin layer coating which prevents reflection as well as fingerprint traces.The Surface Pro 4 from Microsoft measures to be 12.3 inches in screen size and is thicker than dynaPad with 0.33 inches. The device also weighs 1.69 pounds which is heavier than dynaPad. With these specs it is quite clear that Surface Pro 4 will have to face stiff competition from new dynaPad.
TruPen – Digitizer Pen
The device is packed with a digitizer pen. This special featured pen is integrated with Wacom Active Electrostatics, which is almost cent percent accurate. It is capable of performing with 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity, making it easy to use on the screen. The pen can be applied on the screen with the help of inbuilt metal mesh sensor technology. This will assist the users to write effortlessly on the screen, as if you are writing in your paper notebook. Also the case which is made of strong monocoque carbon body which is integrated with rubberized Satin Gold, enables you to hold the device with enough grip.
Keyboard and Processor Features
The keyboard can be easily attached to the device with the help of magnets, transforming it into a highly sophisticated laptop. The keyboard is loaded with 19mm pitch along with 1.5mm stroke, just making it typing friendly. When the device is connected with keyboard, the TruPen can be conveniently placed on the side of the device. The device is powered by Intel Atom Cherry Trail processors with 4GB RAM and promises storage of 64GB. It is somewhat inferior to Intel Core processors of m3 or i5 or i7 embedded in Surface Pro 4. The tablet is also loaded with one micro-HDMI port, one micro-USB port of v2.0 and also one micro SD card slot for additional storage.
Toshiba claimed that its new device is loaded with certain business applications like TruNote, TruCapture and TruRecorder. The additional applications like TruNote Clip help you to snap screen clips, whereas TruNote Share, shares the handwriting on a realtime basis. Another outstanding feature about these applications is that they can be easily synced with Microsoft’s new Office apps.
Pricing and Availability
The dynaPad is expected to be released by the end of December. It is available for pre-order in Japan. The device is tagged at nearly ¥130,000 which will come around $1000 in United States. The device is expected to be available in US tech markets by the initial months of first quarter of 2016.
