Xiaomi launched its latest smartphone Mi 4c at an event in China.The two big changes that differentiate Mi 4c from Mi 4i are the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 808clocked at 1.8GHz and an improved 13-megapixel camera sensor with phase-detection autofocus.Mi 4c has only been released in Chinese market yet. This handset has 5-inch 1080p IPS panel and dual-SIM capabilities. The 16GB version of Mi 4c comes with 2GB of RAM and costs around 1299 yuan ($204), while the 32GB version with 3GB of RAM costs 1499 yuan ($235).The most important highlight of this handset is that it supports USB Type-C reversible connector. The company has already introduced a USB Type-C Adapter which will be available throughthe online store of company (Mi.com) at CNY 5 (approximately Rs. 50).
The Edge Tap Technology on Mi 4c allows the handset to click an image with just a tap on the edge while double tap will take user back to the previous page. This function is extremely useful and innovative as we don’t have to reach out for the screen while clicking images.The Xiaomi Mi 4c features a 5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display. Yet another amazing feature that xiaomi claims about Mi 4c is its ability of being read under sun and also a night reading mode. The double tap feature of this handset wakes up the screen on double tap.
The handset has a 13-megapixel rear camera, featuring phase detection autofocus and comes along with Sony IMX258 or Samsung S5K3M2 sensor. The handset also has a 5 megapixel front camera that comes with an 85-degree wide angle lens and a self-timer. The Mi 4c is backed by 3080mAh battery and a dual 4G SIM. The handset comes with an Infrared that helps the handset to act as a remote controller for various electronic appliances.This handset will be available in Black, Blue, Orange, Pink, and White colors. Xiaomi Mi 4c weighs around 132 grams and measures 138.1×69.6×7.8mm.
Mi 4c wasn’t all that xiaomi announced today. It’ll launch with a pay-as-you-go plan which charges 0.1 Yuan ($0.016) per minute, SMS, or 1MB, and then expand to offer a 3GB data plan for 59 Yuan ($9) per month this coming October. With all this It also became an MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) with “Mi Mobile,” which is offering a simple service plan running on the back of one of China’s smaller mobile networks called Unicom.
