  • Dream comes true…A virtual reality is all decked up for the technical world with Google’s introduction of Google Daydream View that comes with support for their new Daydream project. Virtual Reality on mobile thus offers a new way of viewing things. The new headset is of lightweight fabric, paired with a controller and designed to be easy and instinctive. It is soft and wearable design inspired out of what people wear. Google Daydream View is of soft nylon material and is available in slate, snow and crimson colours. It has a shocking similarity with the already launched VR headset from the Chinese firm Xiaomi and it is worth noticeable that Xiaomi is one of the official hardware partners for Google’s Daydream project. The facepad rests gently on your face and is lightweight, breathable and hand washable. The Daydream controller metamorphoses with user’s imagination for it is natural and instinctive. It can be docked inside the headset itself when not in use. As per the claims of Mount view giant, smart sensors which a user can “swing it like a bat or wave it like a wand”, bestows smooth tracking and movement. It also provides an adjustable volume button. Instead of connecting the headset to any computers or sensors, dock your smartphone into the headset itself. The nylon component also helps in blocking up unnecessary surrounding light. All YouTube content can be viewed via the head set and soon Google paly movies and Google street view and Google photos will be made available in headset. Google is all ready to be in touch with mainstream media houses like New York Times and The Wall Street Journal to usher journalistic stories to VR. Other entrants into the Daydream platform are Netflix, Hulu and HBO. By the end of the year Google claims that there will be around 50 partners who will be closely working to bring forth new apps and games. Headset is not yet planned to be released in India. In US it begins at $79 by this November and in UK at $69.

  • Google has been exciting the technical realm with their wide range of products. All endeavours in the hardware sector is to usher the Google ecosystem closer and augment their involvement in the respective arena. Google Home is all set to take on the mighty Amazon echo, and is priced at $129. It offers free YouTube Red subscription for about 6 months as opposed to the Amazon Echo which prices at $180. “Home by You, Help by Google” is the tagline when Google Home get introduced earlier this year at Google I/O but the firm has not revealed the pricing. It is a voice-activated speaker powered by the Google Assistant. Google has an extensive range of devices and this give Google Home an advantage over Amazon Echo. Google Home will adjure your audio. An unadorned voice request activates Google Home to play music, podcasts or radio from services like Google Play Music, Pandora, Spotify and You Tube Music. A single unknown within your command is never a problem for Google play and thus almost all your queries will be answered. It has far-field voice recognition, Multi-room capability, touch controls and Hi-Fi speaker. A crafty artefact is what Google Home looks and fit into your interior so well. The lower bottom is swappable and it allows you to suit your home decor. It doubles up Chromecast Audio speaker and offers support to nest, Samsung Smarthings, Philips and IFFTT. Your “OK Google” will be responded avoiding chaos. Google Assistant communicates with the app on your behalf. Await no more to grab one and experience the Google Home for pre orders are already started and shipping will begin by 4th of November.

    Nowadays Fingerprint Sensors are quite common in every smartphone. Due to its cheap cost and increased availability, they are there to serve you in smartphones even less than $200. Like camera, they have become an unavoidable part in smartphones. Fingerprint Sensors are mostly used to lock and unlock your display. But now you can use it to lock and unlock applications. In either way Fingerprint Sensors are meant to provide additional security. Uses of Fingerprint Sensors The uses of Fingerprint Sensors are many. As I mentioned above it can be used to lock and unlock your device. Its uses differ with the smartphones you use. In case of Honor smartphones along with Coolpad Life UI and EMUI 4.1, it can be used to taking up calls, capture selfies, stop the wake up alarm and the list goes on. Recently Google also added support for Fingerprint Sensors on their latest Android Marshmallow version. This Fingerprint Sensor can be used to lock and unlock applications in your smartphone. This is done with the help of a third party app namely App Lock. Let us see how it is done. 1. Setup the Fingerprint Sensor This can be done by getting into Fingerprint Management from the Phone Settings. Now you have to configure the Fingerprint Sensor. 2. Download and Set-up App Lock App Lock helps you to secure your apps with the help of either passwords or gestures and now also with the help of Fingerprint Sensors. You can download Fingerprint Sensor from Google Play Store. Now you have to register with the help of your email-id. This will help you if you forget your password for app lock. After you download the app, you will be asked to grant access by a pop-up window Apps with Usage Access. Now click on Permit. This is to be done only at the first time. 3. Select the Apps Now go to the Privacy Tab in App Lock. There you can select apps individually, which you prefer to lock down with the help of Fingerprint Sensor. There after selecting the app, click on Lock Icon. 4. Enabling Fingerprint Lock Select Fingerprint Lock and switch over to Protect Tab. Now turn on Fingerprint Lock. You will be asked to enter the pattern or pin to make sure your identity. Now the Fingerprint Sensor authentication is enabled. Now try to open any of the app which you have added to the list. That particular app can be opened and closed with a single tap or swipe on your Fingerprint sensor. Note: This may not work in those smartphones whose OEM is not applying the core API given in Android Marshmallow.
