‘Time’ gets smarter with Pebble’s Smartwatch
The people around the world are of impression that the Smartwatch market is crowded by only two brands. One is the most successful and proved brand – Apple. Another is the upcoming Google’s Android Wear. To compete with these two giants, another brand also comes to the new horizon with its new model that is Pebble with its new model Pebble Time. It seems to break the monopoly of former giants in the Smartwatch markets.
The company introduced its first product on Kickstarter and they are resuming again with an attractive and crowd pulling model named Pebble Time. According to its CEO Eric Migicovsky, Kickstarter is a proved platform for initial crowd pulling. He said the coming back as a pretty choice that they have made. Pebble’s move in fact proved to be very smart due to two reasons. Firstly they made Public Relations move by going back to the community that supported them earlier. Secondly for the initial mileage to the sales by giving special discounts to the price. Ultimately they proved to be successful by making $3 million in just 17 minutes after the launch of the model.
The new Smartwatch is the company’s 3rd generation smartwatch. It is distinctly featured with a colour e-paper display and with a new design. The new design has a microphone for replying to received messages and to record voice notes which sounds really cool. The Pebble Watch can be owned at a price of $179 which is expected to go up to $199 when it is retailed. The Watch comes out in White, Black and Red colours.
The new watch is almost 20% slimmer than its previous models. It has a slight curve in its design giving it an elegant look when wore on wrists. Screen covered by the Gorilla Glass and stainless steel bezel avoids scratches and provides clarity vision. For better user vision it has a 64-color display which makes the screen visible even in bright sunlight. The watch would last upto seven days between two consecutive charges which would give the Watch an extra edge when compared to other counterparts. The 22mm watch straps are coupled with innovative quick release mechanism that would ultimately allow the 3rd party to make straps and connecting sensors. The new software platform also provides it an edge over other brands. The new Pebble watch is partnered with ESPN, Evernote, Pandora, Weather Channel and Jawbone providing input data to the timeline of the Pebble Time. With all these the Pebble Time has really given the smartwatch lovers one more choice.
