However you may not want to download certain folders to your gadget. Sometimes you may want only certain files of certain categories in your gadget. Another problem is that you may have only limited storage space left in your gadget. So inorder to cope up with this problem, you may want to sync some selected folders from the OneDrive account with your device. But you may doubt whether this is possible. The answer is simply ‘Yes’. Now let us see how to sync particular folders of OneDrive with the gadget.

Steps to Follow….

First of all you have to open the ‘Notification’ bar in your gadget. It can be opened by tapping the up arrow button seen on the right side of the task bar. Then you have to ‘Right Click the OneDrive Icon’. Now you have to select the ‘Settings’ option from the dialog box. Another window will be opened with the name ‘Microsoft OneDrive’. There you have to tap on the tab with name ‘Choose Folders’. By doing so a dialog box will be shown which says, ‘If you don’t want to keep everything on your OneDrive on this PC, you can choose to sync only some folders by clicking Choose Folders’. If you click on this ‘Choose Folders’, then another dialog box with the name of ‘Sync your OneDrive files to this PC’ will be displayed.

There you can see checkboxes with options asking ‘Sync all file and folders in my OneDrive’ and another option with a list of ‘Sync only these folders’. You can uncheck those folders which you don’t want to sync with your gadget. When you uncheck a particular folder for the first time, then another dialog box will be opened saying that ‘the files and folders will stay on OneDrive but not on PC. If they are currently present on your device, then they will be deleted’. You have click on ‘OK’ to get rid of the dialog box. When you are done with unchecking those files which you don’t want to sync, then you have to select ‘OK’, which is seen at the bottom of the dialog box.On doing so you will be taken back to the ‘Settings’ box and on selecting ‘OK’, the box will close down.

If you ever want to sync those folders which you have opt to not to sync, you have to repeat the above steps and then finally check those boxes of folders which you want to sync with your device.
