Much Awaited Android N Developer Preview Peeks Out
After the launch much successful Android OS M – Marshmallow, users all across the world are eagerly waiting for the next release. Google has been following alphabetic order for their Android versions that are released periodically. After Android M, now it is the time for Android N. Android M was for Android Marshmallow, but name for Android N hasn’t released. Like the previous versions, it will be something related to sweets or sweet stuffs. Maybe we can expect something like Android Nectar. Anyway the developer preview of Android N has a lot of exciting features.
Multi Window Mode

The most important change that comes in Android N is the support of Multi-Window Mode. This will allow the users to use many applications at the same time, placing each of them to the side of another. For instance you can open Whatapp and Gmail at the same time on the same single window side by side.
Display Improvements
The new Android N Developer Preview allows you to Zoom-in your display to have a detailed view on minute parts of the screen. This will help those users with poor vision to see what is shown on the screen. Another notable feature is the updated Quick Tiles. This promises the users to include more tiles to the Quick Tiles page according to their choice. The pagination feature provides the developers an API to explain Quick Tile actions.
Enhanced Data Saver Mode and Number Blocking Feature
Android N is featured with new Data Saver Mode. It will save your data. With Android N users can decide the data usage pattern by each application and above that users can streamline the maximum data that can be used by a particular application. Another feature named Number Blocking allows you to get rid of irritating incoming calls and messages. In addition Android N will have a new Call Screening Feature along with newDirect Boot aspect, which will fasten the booting process of the smartphone.
Others
The system User Interface Tuner allows you to initiate Night Mode, which will in-turn enhances the display of your smartphone. Android N is launched with a couple of features supporting Android TV. The new Android N will allow the users to record the contents of TV. This will also allow the users to have Picture-in-Picture mode.
Problems with Developer Version
Since it is just a developer version of Android N, it suffers certain shortcomings. Android N doesn’t support Android Pay. Likewise Voicemail Playback remains broken in Android N version. Android N Developer Version also suffers from certain bugs and various other software issues.
Availability
Developers are allowed to try new Android N Developer Preview and Android Studio 2.1. The users who are willing to test pre-release version are also allowed to download factory images which are compatible with handsets like Nexus 5X, Pixel C, Nexus 6, Nexus Player, Nexus 9 and Nexus 6P. Google is going to release a Beta program, which will allow the users to get updated to Android N Developer Preview.
