Instagram app updates creates problem to third party apps
INTRODUCTION
In the recent times we seem to find some quality apps on windows 8 support like the Vine, Path and Fipboard. But there was one popular app which was missing. The pressure of Nokia on Facebook to build in the Instagram windows 8 application was staggering high. Instagram which was owned by the Facebook then finally launched in windows 8 phones and devices. But the problem seemed to arise from there on. When people tried to use the latest instagram app on windows 8 supported devices they found in a major bug of blocking the access of third part apps. The app named “Instance” which was a predominant running app for instagram on windows 8 was debarred from the photo sharing access.
NEWS
One of the most popular photo sharing social network seemed to have landed themselves in difficulty after some updates made in their API. This change n API setting seemed to have a big blow on the windows 8 mobile users. The reason for this being that the instagram is not packed with any official app, thus the users were open to the option of third party access of apps to use the services. The Facebook owned image social sharing app “Instagram” is actually blocking Instance app of windows. Though when reported of the issue, the chief developer of the Instance application seemed to be in no confusion and is taking the bug on their shoulder. It has been said by the app developer that it is no way a problem of the Instagram if they cannot detect the app, as it is third party. It was further stated from the Instance app’s developer side that they are on a role to fix the issue so that it can be integrated well and clarified, and it was not an issue faced by all.
PRIVACY SETTINGS ON INSTAGRAM APP
As per the team of Instagram the API settings have been updating recently just to keep eagles eye on the unofficial app that covers the instagram process. In lieu to this, the instance app was the target of Facebook as through this app people could upload images and share them using their app. The facebook’s instagram was quite active and spontaneous in deleting the contents published through the instance app.
It has been seen in the Face book’s history they appear to be quite strict upon the third party access even in the earlier times. In 2012 similar instances occurred when Facebook blocked Apples’ iOs app, vintage camera from permitting them to integrate with Facebook’s API.
The privacy policy of Facebook clearly stated that they will not entertain any of their application to be used by the competitors for linking, direct sharing, and redirects or for any use which may at any time may hamper the prestige and reputation of social network giants.
In the windows phone the change was seen lately when there was the launch of Hipstamatic Oggle, which made the windows 8 support devices to upload the photos but there was no option of viewing the content.
VIEWS OF THE OFFICIALS ON UPDATES
The instance app developer personnel seem to give n a clean chit to the Facebbok. He clearly stated that the privacy setting and configurations of API debarred the third party apps from accessing their path. The spokes person further said that as the security and spam filter of Facebook have been updated thus, it’s their duty to comply with them, as their servers could not track as official access perimeters of their paths.
An official of the Instagram app which is presently officially owned by the Facebook social giants confirmed the news on filters on spam and third part access being released. The official further made it clear that this filtering and privacy settings will be universal to all apps who will try to access instagram without its official permit and is not directly towards any particular group or community. The latest after the instance app of windows is the 6tagram beta application which is also noticing the same issue.
Though after unlimited complaints from users and troubles faced by the users the Facebook’s Instagram seemed to have undergone a fresh update once again. According to the users of instant app, they can now see their contents when uploaded but is not accessible for public viewing.
