After successful launch of Apple Watch series 1, the Cupertino giant has launched the second phase. The new device will be called Apple Watch Series 2 or Watch 2. The device looks similar to Watch 1 but in the case a lot have changed.
Watch 2 from Apple measures to be 42.5*36.4*11.4mm with a weight of 52.4 grams. The outer case is made of Stainless Steel and Aluminium which makes it durable. It can survive in water upto a depth of 50 metres. Watch is also introduced by Apple with much stronger outer case made of White Pearl Ceramic. A 38mm version is also available in this Watch 2 series.
The display of Apple Watch 2 comes to be 1.65 inches with a resolution of 390*312 pixels. The AMOLED capacitive touchscreen supports 3D Touch display with a brightness of 1000 nits. The display appears to be quite human. When you swap from one edge to another, it will bring out a new watch display with new gallery.
Apple Watch 2 runs on Apple S2 processor. This Dual Core processor makes Apple Watch 2 almost 2 times faster than the previous model. Apple Watch 2 functions with the help of WatchOS 3.0. This OS is featured by SOS which is enabled with 911 Alert or other emergency numbers or your relatives’ or neighbours contact number to help you out.
Apple Watch 2 seems to be an excellent fitness tracker. With an ability to survive water upto a depth of 50 metres, this can be used while swimming. The developers have integrated a GPS inside Watch 2, which will keep an eye on your jogging by telling the speed and time taken while jogging. Watch 2 can track the exact level of calories burnt while workout, distance covered, time taken for workout and so on.
Apple Watch 2 comes with non-removable Li-Ion Battery. The exact battery capacity is still not known. But when compared to the previous version, it is expected that Apple Watch 2 will have a better battery life.
Apple partnered with Nike and launched Apple Watch Nike+. Both Apple Watch 2 and Apple Watch Nike+ costs you $369. Apple Watch 2 and Apple Watch Nike+ are now available in the shelves. The Ceramic edition is bit costlier with a price tag of more than $1500.
