You don’t need an introduction to the brand Verizon. This company has its reputation all around. Verizon is popularly known as a mobile communication expert. In addition to this title they have also succeeded in bringing economic gadgets with decent quality. Motorola is one of their allies since 2011 after the introduction of their first Android based model Motorola ‘Xoom’. They had even shared their technical expertise with big brands like Sony, Samsung etc. Verizon also introduced certain Android models by themselves to the market and Ellipsis 7-inch tablet was one among them. That model didn’t go well as they expected. Now they have decided to rejuvenate the model and about to announce the 8-inch version of the tablet.
As mentioned earlier, this table comes with an 8-inch touchscreen display that supports full HD screen resolution of 12800 x 800. The tablet comprised of a 5 MP rear camera and it comes with a 16 GB built in storage. They have doubled the storage capacity when compared to the Ellipsis 7. One of the main cons of Ellipsis 7 was the low storage capacity and this time they seem to have rectified it. Most of the specification details are unclear as Verizon is too vigilant in publishing the detailed hardware specifications. Ellipsis 8 will be based on 1.5GHz quad-core processor. They are yet to reveal the details of the processor model and manufacturer. The device will be based on Android operating system for sure and most probably the Android KitKat 4.4 version. They have also improved the battery capacity to 5000 mAh. We can assume that the processor will be based on latest Intel Core M as most of the competent have discovered the potential of this processor. Thinner Bezel edges are the recent trend followed by many companies to improve the looks and to make its models meeker. Verizon has also followed this principle by bringing small Bezel to this model. It supports all the latest connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth etc. We can also expect better 4G with LTE support as well. No one can teach Verizon on implementing superfast network technologies.
Verizon doesn’t have a dedicated tablet development center and their tablets are manufactured by the Taiwan based firm Quanta. Verizon also offers cash discount of $100 if the customer purchases the new two year plan activation. Verizon’s brain was there with many famous models of big companies. So you can’t think suspect any bad qualities on the new Ellipsis 8. The present market is very sensible and any slight mistake can adversely affect the market share very badly. So let’s hope that Verizon has learnt from their earlier mistakes.
