Samsung seem to be in limelight of CES 2016 by launching a Windows tab.Nowadays major smartphone makers are keen to have Windows as their handset OS and now Samsung also follows the folk. Samsung Galaxy TabPro S is the first ever 2-in-1 device to launch with Windows as its OS supported by AMOLED display. Company launched two models of Galaxy TabPro S. One is loaded with in-built LTE connectivity and another model loaded with WiFi connectivity. Here I would like to have an elaborated view on various specs of Galaxy TabPro S.
Design and Display
Samsung Galaxy TabPro S is having a dimension of 290.3*198.8*6.3mm and is having a weight of 696 grams. The screen size comes to be 12 inches edge to edge and comes to be nearly 75% of the total body. The screen resolution measures to be 2160*1440 pixels with a pixel density of 216 PPI. The multi-touch display is coupled with Super AMOLED display technology.
Processor and Storage
Galaxy TabPro S is powered by 6th Generation Intel Dual Core M3-6Y30 processor which clocks at a speed of 2.2GHz. This 64-bit high end processor ensures that the tablet functions without any processing lag. This processor is also supported by in-built Intel HD Graphics 515. The system RAM comes to be 4GB. This gadget is loaded with an optional in-built storage of either 128GB or 256GB. The OS on which the gadget functions is Windows 10 Pro.
Camera and Connectivity
Galaxy TabPro S features a front cam and back cam loaded with 5MP lens. This is quite disgusting to have such low camera specification for a tablet like this which is supposed to compete with iPads and Surface Pro. These cameras are featured with Autofocus and Geo-tagging feature. It is also supported by Cam recorder feature also.
On connectivity side, Galaxy TabPro S is loaded with WiFi connectivity with a bandwidth of 802.11 a/b/g/n. It is also enhanced with Bluetooth connectivity of v4.1. The device is loaded with only one USB Type-C port of v3.1, which is capable of data transfer and HDMI video output with the help of an optional adapter. There is an optional keyboard which can be connected to the device. The keyboard compatible with Galaxy TabPro S is SP4 type, which has smaller keys than that of SP3, but the distance between each key is comparatively more. This makes it easy to type with SP4. Also this keyboard is not loaded with backlit feature, which makes it difficult to type in dim lights.
Device also supports GPS and GLONASS positioning. As I mentioned earlier, Samsung launches two variants of the model. One of the models supports LTE-A Cat 6 connectivity. While the other variant supports only WiFi connectivity. Other connectivity options available are NFC, OTA sync, Computer Sync and Tethering. Galaxy TabPro S is loaded with in-built services such as YouTube with uploading facility only. It is also loaded with in-built Picasa and Google+ support.
Battery, Pricing and Availability
Galaxy TabPro S is powered by a battery with a capacity of 5200mAh. It guarantees a continuous functioning of the tab for 10.5 hours when used with internet or WiFi with other processing also. USB Type-C port enables us to charge the device to its full within 2.5 hours. This will be made available in markets across the world by February. Nothing has been told by the company officials regarding the pricing of the gadget. But it is expected that it will not be less than $899, which is the base price of Surface Pro 4.
