OnePlus One smartphones have already set out its sale in India. They are running on Cyanogen OS. The Chinese company was trying for the last few years to develop its own OS. Their aim was not to give their customers any modified OS but to provide certain basic features with utmost quality. With the success of their technical team, they laid a foundation to their dream by developing in-house OS for their smartphone OnePlus One. The company named the new Operating System as OxygenOS. Unfortunately the sad news is that the Indian buyers will not be able to grab this opportunity.
Features of OxygenOS
The OS is nearly of the size 700 MB. So really the handset needs a huge backup to have this update over your handset. The next most important thing is that the OS is based on Lollipop 5.0. So certain features in the new OS seem to be similar to Lollipop 5.0. Certain other customized features includes ability to transform from hardware to software navigations and likewise. They also have the option of customized wallpapers. Certain quick settings option present in the OS allows you to rearrange tiles in notification panel. They also features certain custom features like Clear Image, Lock screen signs etc which makes the new OS distinct. In short OxygenOS will bring the feel of using Lollipop 5.0 for OPO smartphone users.
The company told in its official release report that the development of new OS has been a challenging experience for the company. Company officially told that they also wanted to be unique in the tech world where everyone is developing their own customized ROMs. The company officials also said that instead of giving gimmicks and overstuffed features, they actually concentrated on providing basic features like better performance and extended battery life.
Customers need not worry on thinking about how to install the new update. The new update is being provided with an installation guide. Users are requested to install the new update by following the instructions given in the guide. The update was available for the users to download from 27th March. But there were certain security issues, so the company withholds the release for a couple of weeks. Now the users can download the update by going to www.oneplus.net/oxygenos.
The most annoying disappointment is that Indian buyers will not be getting the benefits of this update. Another most disgusting thing is that further modifications will be provided by the company to only those who have downloaded the OxygenOS. Customers expect that the company will definitely try to sort out this problem since a large number of buyers will be left out from update programme. Company also expects the users to give their feedback. This is the first attempt from the company in the area of OS development. So company wanted to get feedback inorder to better their OS in future on the basis of customer’s choice.
