LG launched its latest flagship smartphone loaded with metal body at MWC Barcelona. The company promised that this new handset will deliver a new experience for its users across the world. The highlight of LG G5 is its Semi-Modular Approach, which will turn the device into a full-fledged digital camera, fully equipped player and so on.
LG G5 is loaded with extension slot which can host multiple components. LG already launched two such components. One is CAM Plus and the other one is Hi-Fi Plus along with B&O Play.
- Cam Plus can be connected with the handset with the help of additional battery slot. This will provide similar features like DSLR camera. Cam Plus component provides Auto Focus, Exposure Lock and is also loaded with Power Shutter, Zoom and Record Buttons. In addition this will provide LG G5 an additional battery capacity of 1200mAh.
- Hi-Fi Plus is an audio player which can be either connected with LG G5 or can be used as an independent player. This component is a high end Digital Audio Chip, which can be easily connected with any smartphone or PCs.
Design and Display
LG G5 features a dimension of 149.4*73.9*7.7mm with a weight of 159 grams. This handset is loaded with an optional Dual-SIM.LG G5 features an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen loaded with 5.3 inches edge to edge. This screen is having a screen resolution of 1440*2560 pixels with 554 PPI. The screen offers Multi-touch facility and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
Processor, Storage and OS
LG G5 is powered by Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 processor. This processor is enhanced with Adreno 530 GPU for graphics. Along with this LG G5 is loaded with 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. In addition you can have extra storage upto 200GB with the help of external microSD memory card. This memory card can be inserted to the optional secondary SIM-card slot.LG G5 is loaded with Android OS of v6.0 Marshmallow.
Camera and Connectivity
Unlike other premium handsets, LG G5 features dual camera to its back. One of them features 16MP lens while the other one is loaded with 8MP lens. Both the cameras are enhanced with Laser Autofocus, Optical Image Stabilization and LED Flash. Along with this, these primary snappers are loaded with features like Geo-tagging, Smile/ Face detection, Touch Focus, HD Recording and Panorama. Videos can be recorded at 2160 pixels @30fps and with 1080 pixels @60fps respectively with these 16MP and 8MP cameras. The front snapper is loaded with 8MP lens. This camera can record video with 1080 pixels @30fps. On connectivity end, LG G5 supports optional Dual-SIM, where one slot supports 3G or 4G SIM while the other one holds either the SIM card or memory card.LG G5 also supports WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and NFC. In addition LG G5 is also loaded with Infrared Port and USB port of v3.0. LG G5 also features Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0, which infact charges 83% in 30 minutes.
Battery, Sensor and Availability
LG G5 is loaded with removable Li-Ion battery with a capacity of 2800mAh.LG G5 is loaded with certain sensors like Fingerprint, Colour Spectrum, Accelerometer, Barometer, Gyro, Compass and Proximity. LG will launch LG G5 in colour variants of Silver, Pink, Gold and Titan. Company also made it clear that they will be launching LG G5 to the markets world-wide by April.For the time being LG G5 was introduced to the tech world through MWC Barcelona.
