Blackberry was about to launch its new smartphone branded as Blackberry Oslo. But before Blackberry could reveal the details N4BB gave a blow to its expectations. They leaked the specifications and photographs of the new smartphone. The Blackberry lovers were keen about the new launch of the company. But by the exposed photographs and specs, they got disappointed. It is because the company packed the old ‘Passport’ in new case.
What’s similar between Oslo and Passport?
Oslo seems to be a renovated model of Blackberry’s previous model named Passport. This made the customers to face off from its new anticipated launch. The smartphone has the same old rectangular shape similar to that of Passport. The display also comes with the same 4.5 inch edge to edge with a screen resolution of 1440*1440 pixels. Even the hardware specifications are almost same. The processor comes from Snapdragon MSM8974 with a processing speed of 2.2GHz. The 3GB RAM of the smartphone promises that it will function without any processing lag. New smartphone comes with 13MP snapper. The battery of the handset has a capacity of 3450mAh which is enough to hold it live for the whole and even more than that.
Eventhough the two models looks alike in certain areas, it has certain differences, especially when it comes to the exterior. The case that covers the handset is made from a mixture of silver plastic and steel. This case is enough to protect the interior of the handset from external ruptures and shocks. The case of the handset has got a textured backside made of rubber material. Also the display has been curved. Also the smartphone has got a keyboard which can be slided out. The new device will run on OS from Blackberry with the version 10.3.2.
If the sources of N4BB are correct, Blackberry is intended to sell the smartphone over EMEA and APAC regions, which includes the markets of China. N4BB anticipates that the new model from Blackberry cannot penetrate much deep to other markets other than mentioned above. For the time being no information is available regarding the price and launching date of the new smartphone.
But BlackBerry Central, back in April claimed that they have got solid informations regarding the launch date of much anticipated Oslo. According to them, the company will come out with its new model by the end of June of this year. Anyway customers all across the world are patiently waiting for new smartphone from the family of Blackberry. Since Blackberry is facing tough competition from already established players of the market, it is crucial for them to establish their firm position inorder to survive.
