The Chinese smartphone manufacturer brand Huawei has launched an affordable smartphone which will be named Huawei SnapTo ( also known as Huawei Expo). This phone will be initially listed online and is currently available with Amazon.com. The listing is claimed officially by Huawei.
Huawei SnapTo is primarily targeted at cheap and unlocked smartphone users. This segment has large number of users, mainly in the U.S. market. Huawei has always known for producing well built design and feature rich handsets within the budget range. With the release of new smartphone, devices like Moto G and similar phones within the $200 price mark will get a tough competition. Huawei has made a big leap forward this time by moving out of Chinese and Asian markets and launching the product in the U.S. as well.
The phone is officially available from April 9, 2015 and will be available for purchase online. In the U.S region, Huawei SnapTo will initially be supporting AT&T and T-Mobile carriers. Other carrier support will be soon extended.It will come in black and white colors.
The phone has a 5 inch screen and supports 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. The body has a thickness of 7.6mm and has leather texture finish on the rear side.It uses the powerful Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and encores 1 GB RAM and 8 GB of internal memory which can be expanded by using microSD card.The front camera of SnapTo is 2 MP and the rear camera is 5MP. It has a decent battery of 2200 mAh. Huawei SnapTo will come with Android KitKat 4.4 out of the box. The availability of Lollipop update is not yet confirmed. The handset is 4G LTE enabled.
The phone will be available at a retail price of $179.99 through online sale in the U.S and without contract.
