Finally Huawei lifted veils and officially launched Mate S. Many of the exciting features of the new handset became known to public before the official declaration by the company. Huawei announced the release of new model of handset at IFA conference held at Berlin. Huawei has been trying hard to capture the major share of handset market by introducing some catchy devices. Though many features got leaked, Mate S resembles many features with its predecessor Ascend Mate 7. Let us have a look to its features.
Specifications of Mate S
The screen size of the new device measures to be 5.5 inches edge to edge,along with a screen resolution of 1080 pixels. The device is powered with a processor with Octa Core HiSilicon Kirin 935 with a processing capability of 2.2GHz. This processor is supported with extra graphics from Mali T-628 MP4 GPU. The RAM measures to be 3GB along with internal storage capacity of 32GB. The storage can be expanded upto 128GB with the help of external memory card. The device functions on EMUI 3.1 OS which is grounded on Android OS of version 5.1.1 Lollipop.
The main camera of the device is loaded with a lens with the power of 13MP. This camera is again supported with other features like RGBW sensor along with optical image stabilizer. Inorder to capture quality images the technical team behind the device also included the feature of dual colour temperature LED flash. The front has got a lens with the power of 8MP. The battery has got a capacity of 2700mAh, which will be enough to keep the handset live throughout the day.
When the physical design if the handset is considered, then one cannot ignore the eye catching diamond cut metal unibody design. The design looks pretty with 2.5D Gorilla Glass along with smooth edges. The smartphone is loaded with fingerprint sanner which is placed on the back side. Its function is to delete unwanted and unread notifications, see pictures and to attend phone calls.
Knuckle Sense 2.0 Technology
This is one of the exciting features added to the new handset. This latest technology allows the user of the handset to communicate with the display of the handset by means of certain knuckle based signs. For instance by drawing the sign of ‘C’, user will be able to command the handset to open camera application and so on.
Force Touch Technology
Another exciting feature that makes Mate S extra-ordinary is the Force Touch Technology. This technology performs certain functions based on the hardness of touch made on the display by the user. For instance if touch hard when some photo is displayed, this will result in magnifying the picture and likewise. Certain other features includes hard touch on the corner of the handset commands the OS to open certain application shortcuts.
Availability and Pricing
The latest handset will be launched initially in the markets of Western Europe by 15th September. The standard version will be available at price tag of 649 euros. Huawei will be launching variants of the smartphone in Mystique Champagne and Titanium Grey with the above price range with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. Another variant will be launched with a price tag of 699 euros in Prestige Gold and Coral Pink, featuring 64GB internal storage with 3GB RAM
