HP is famous for its PCs and related accessories. After a certain period’s gap, HP has again shown up with its latest smartphone. The new smartphone from HP is named as Elite X3 and was showcased at MWC Barcelona. This is a Windows 10 smartphone and can be used as smartphone, laptop as well as desktop computer. Even though many companies have launched many devices featuring the concept of 3-in-1, but none has succeeded yet. Let us see whether Elite X3 from HP has succeeded or not.
Elite X3 is having a dimension of 161.8*83.5*7.8 mm. The weight of the device starts from 195 grams. With the certification of IP67, the device proves to be waterproof as well as dustproof. Another unique feature of Elite X3 is the 5 Pogo pins attached to the back of the device which will help in attaching extra devices like barcode scanners, printers and other devices which would give users a feeling that they are using a fully-equipped computer. With its enhanced features Elite X3 tend to suit corporate and enterprise users mostly.
In addition of having two biometrics Elite X3 is also loaded with FIPS 140-2 cryptography, TPM 2.0, protection against firmware attacks, 256-bit key full disk encryption and so on. Unfortunately, this won’t guarantee you the full functionalities of a Desktop computer, which is regarded as greatest set-back of such devices. Inorder to get rid of this, HP is trying to have cloud bridge, but it will not suite an ordinary user.
HP has come up with a set of accessories along with Elite X3 to give it a feeling of 3-in-1 gadget. The company has come up with Desk Dock, which is loaded with two USB ports, one USB C port, Display port and one Ethernet to get it connected with display device.
