Microsoft has announced its new browser which will be available with the newest version of Windows i.e. Windows 10 onwards. The project called ‘Spartan’ was launched by Microsoft last year for developing the new browser. This browser is called Edge. The browser was announced on the 29th of April at the Microsoft Build Developers conference. The browser derives its name from the EdgeHTMLMicrosoft which is the rendering engine for Windows 10 browser.
Developers have contributed by creating a browser of the future. The Edge browser will have a improved layout for new tabs which seem to have a flat design approach, favorites folder integrated into the browser, thumbnails of frequently visited websites, web apps and personalized information from Cortana. With the new browser you can write directly on web pages and share them, read online articles free from distraction or use the offline reading feature for greater convenience. Hovering the mouse pointer over the open tabs results in a small thumbnail view of the webpage. Microsoft has also added support for Chrome and Firefox extensions which can be customized and optimized for Microsoft Edge. The trial version of the browser is available with the Windows 10 Technical Preview known as Build 10105.
Microsoft Edge will be a great browser for creating and consuming content over the web.Edge is significantly faster than its predecessor and includes a built-in notation tool, further integration with digital assistant Cortana to offer more personalized search results and actions and a reading mode.
Microsoft has made clear that its popular browser Internet Explorer will not be removed as it will be available with the enterprise users. The new browser is designed with a goal of portability and flexibility as well as speed
