For the past few months tech market were filled with rumours of partnership between tech giant Microsoft and Cyanogen. But till now no confirmations were made. But Cyanogen itself came out with an email which they mailed to ‘The Verge’, confirming the merging. In the mail Cyanogen informed The Verge that they will be assimilating Microsoft’s consumer applications and services with their Operating System. Other applications and services provided by Microsoft like Bing, OneDrive, OneNote, Outlook, Skype and Office will be parted with Cyanogen OS later this year. With this parting agreement Microsoft has granted their entire support for designing native integrations in Cyanogen OS.
In effect these integrations will be benefitting Microsoft more prominently. Microsoft in these recent years is trying to integrate their applications with Android. They have been experimenting various application in Android to get integrated with their OS. One such integration experiment made by them is by replacing old lock screen of Google Android OS. They tried to replace the old lock screen with ‘Next Lock Screen’ from Android OS background.
CEO of Cyanogen Incorporations is of the opinion that customers across the world are now using their Operating System along with Microsoft services. He added that thus this partnership is going to aid those users in a better way satisfying their requirements. He also said that the partnership with Microsoft will enable Cyanogen to provide improved class of services to smartphone users across the world.
On the other hand Microsoft officials said that the integration will ensure provision of world class services to the smartphone users in the market. Microsoft officials also expressed their delight in providing Cyanogen Operating System users with certain unique services which will ultimately deliver high end experience to them. They can experience certain unique features and applications that were earlier enjoyed by Windows OS users only.
Anyway this new partnership and integration move by both the companies will definitely benefit the smartphone users. They will be able to use the world class applications developed by researchers of Microsoft in Cyanogen Platform. This ensures proper functioning of smartphones with Cyanogen OS and provides better app experiences to its users across the world. By this integration Cyanogen and Microsoft adopted a give and take policy.
This partnership move has triggered similar actions in the tech market. Latest among them is the move by Smartphone giant Samsung. They have decided to include certain applications and services from Microsoft in their new Galaxy S6. This is because they had to face certain Android royalty issues. Another giant who had planned to integrate Microsoft application in their Android devices is Dell. They have been planning to insert Microsoft Office and certain other services in their devices.
