Alienware has always been a top performer in the gaming laptop segment, before and after Dell’s takeover. The huge size and weight has always been a concern which to an extent they justified with the performance.
Now they announced their new Alienware 13 Gaming Laptop, in which they try to reduce the thickness and weight but still it will not completely be a lightweight one though.
The new Alienware 13 is 1 inch thick and it weighs at 4.5 lb (2.04 Kg).The laptop will get an Ultra low voltage 4th generation Intel Core i series processor, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 860M graphics, 16 GB DDR3 Ram and supports two SSDs.
Depending on the range of the product it has 3 different display panel options. The low range ,a 200 nib TN panel covering 45% color gamut and a 1366X768 resolution. The mid range, IPS panel with 1920X1080 resolution covering 72% color gamut and a 350 nib brightness. The high end, QHD 2560X1440 resolution with 400 nibs and 72% color gamut IPS touch screen display. But the three models will get the same GPU and that’s something undesirable.
The famous light effects seen in all Alienware laptops can be seen in this model too. The keyboard and the chassis are all lit up with Alien FX System and the pattern and color changes with the game you play.
Design has always spot on with any Alienware laptops that is the same with this model as well, with sturdy metal casing.
It features Killer 802.11ac Wireless, Ethernet and USB for connectivity, Klipsch audio and Alienware TALIX keyboard
The exact launch date and price of Alienware 13 is unknown but is expected to hit the market by November and we expect it to be priced below $1000.
