“Outlook”-the new app for email; was released by the Microsoft as a new app for i-phone Operating System (iOS) and also for Android as a preview version for both calendar and email. The company recently acquired Acompli, the maker of email apps. The new apps are designed on resembling the designs of Acompli App for the iOS. The app is made for download as free of cost from Google Play Store as well as from the App Store.
The new App “The Outlook” allows a user friendly interface for navigating through mails as well as calendars and the application also supports Exchange, Gmail, Outlook.com, Office 365 and Yahoo. The most differentiating feature of “Outlook” is that it is entirely different form other Office apps for Android. Unlike other apps of Microsoft it can be made use in android smartphones as well in tablets.
The app helps in sorting your mails under the heads of “Focused” and the “Other” by default (if you don’t want to sort then you can turn off). In ‘Focused Inbox’ all the important mails are get sorted automatically and would function just like the Priority Inbox of Google. All other unimportant mails are get accumulated in the ‘Other Inbox’. Another added advantage is that the users are free to move mails under one Inbox to the other. Then by keenly observing your activities in this manner the Outlook will follow these automatically without your interference. Other added features includes swipe action helping deleting, flagging, moving and archiving messages, support, search and attachment of messages and also a People Tab that allows the users to get immediately the most used email contacts within seconds.
The app also contains a File Tab that shows recently handled messages that have attached files within it. The bottom tabs such as calendar, people, mail, stings and people helps in easy switchover between screens without having clicking ‘Menu’. The feature of Calendar helps in sharing your schedules with other peer users and it also helps in fixing meeting schedules or helps the users to respond to the meeting requests from others. The App is so simple to use if you are acquainted with Google Inbox and Mailbox. The gestures for saving, deleting, moving, mark as unread or read etc, can be preset in the settings menu. Unlike other apps for email, this app is integrated with a calendar which comes in handy for especially for business people, politicians etc. This app can be linked to Dropbox, Google Drive, Box Accounts and one Drive inorder to preview and attach files.
In nutshell The Outlook is as useful as Mailbox or Gmail. Along with calendar feature it may be more advantageous than Mailbox and Gmail.
